The founders were greatly opposed to foreign entanglements. It is not our job nor anyone else's to police the world. We've wasted trillions of dollars on wars overseas and have nothing to show for it. Thousands of American soldiers have given their lives and yet, both Iraq and Afghanistan remain broken and unstable. We have special interest that's as large as ever and yet, the politicians in Washington want more. They want more military entanglements, more intervention, more war. The American people are sick and tired of this (as amply demonstrated in the calls for intervention in Syria.) We need to focus on the issues we have here at home, instead of invading far away countries whose people we do not know, whose conflicts we did not start, and whose problems we do not understand.
